When to Book Your Senior Session
Work backward from yearbook and graduation deadlines
Most St. Augustine seniors shoot the summer before their senior year (June-September) so photos are delivered in time for yearbook submissions and early college applications. Many schools have yearbook deadlines in October-December—book early enough that a rush-delivered gallery still leaves room for layout selection.
For graduation announcements and spring celebrations, plan a second shorter session in the spring if you want fresh images for the announcement cards and party invitations. Some seniors do a single session summer-before; others split into a summer shoot plus a short graduation-specific session in April or May.
If you're flexible on timing, September and October give you the best combination: cooler temperatures, less humidity, golden-hour light that lasts longer, and beaches without summer crowds.

The simplest plan for a St. Augustine senior session is two or three outfits that move from casual to polished. Start with something relaxed—a beach-ready fit, a favorite hoodie, the outfit you actually wear on a weekend. Transition into something more intentional: a dress you love, a sharp button-down, whatever you'd wear for a school photo that felt more like you.
For beach senior photos, neutrals and earth tones photograph cleanly against sand and water. Downtown sessions let you push into color—jewel tones, denim, patterns. Avoid large logos and neon; they pull attention from your face. Bring accessories that tell your story: varsity letters, a team jacket, instruments, class ring, a pet leash if your dog is joining.

Senior sessions are priced similarly to our family sessions. Single-location, 60-90 minute sessions start at $400, which includes 40-60 fully edited images, an online gallery with download rights, and full print rights. Two-location sessions (90-120 minutes) are a custom quote based on travel and complexity.
Rush delivery for yearbook deadlines is available at no extra charge when we have lead time. Reach out to check availability for your target window.
