Jeff knew keeping a secret from Ella would be tough, so she knew a proposal was coming — just not when. That meant no hiding in the dunes for us. Jill and I were already out on St. Augustine Beach when Jeff and Ella walked up with their friends, and Jeff took a moment to compose himself before turning toward the sunset and asking her to marry him. She covered her face, said yes, and the whole thing got emotional in the best way. After that we skipped around the beach with the two of them and their friends, catching portraits as the light went gold and the string lights came on behind the dunes.
