Why We Love Photographing at One Ocean Resort
The direct beach access is the obvious draw, but what makes One Ocean work so well for us is the speed of that transition. We can pull a couple out of the cocktail hour, walk to the sand in two minutes, shoot sunset portraits with the Atlantic stretching behind them, and have them back before guests notice they were gone. That efficiency means we get beach portraits without sacrificing reception coverage.
The oceanfront courtyard gives us a more structured alternative to the beach - manicured landscaping with the ocean visible beyond. It works well for ceremony coverage because we can position with the water as the background while shooting from stable ground. The resort architecture adds formal elements - columns, archways, clean coastal lines - that complement the natural beach setting.
The getting-ready photos benefit from the resort setting too. Ocean-view rooms with good natural light and upscale finishes make those morning-of moments look polished without needing additional styling. Having 193 rooms on-site means the bridal party is relaxed and close, which shows in the images.
Best Photo Locations
The Beach
Direct beach access means sand, waves, and endless ocean as your backdrop. Atlantic Beach offers beautiful sunrise and sunset light, and the waves create a romantic, timeless setting.
Oceanfront Courtyard
Accommodates up to 200 for ceremony and 150 for reception with ocean views. The manicured courtyard provides a more formal beach setting with the Atlantic as backdrop.
The Ballroom
Elegant indoor space for up to 200 guests with sophisticated decor and natural light from large windows. Perfect for both ceremonies and receptions.
Ocean Terrace
An intimate outdoor space for up to 50 guests with direct ocean views. Ideal for smaller celebrations or cocktail hours.
Resort Architecture
The 4-diamond resort features elegant coastal architecture. Columns, archways, and sophisticated design elements create polished portrait backdrops.
Guest Rooms & Suites
The 193 guest rooms include ocean views that make for beautiful getting-ready photos. The bridal suite is especially photogenic.
Photographer Tips
Sunset is Everything
The Atlantic-facing beach means morning sun and evening golden hour. We'll time your portraits for the best light - usually about an hour before sunset for that warm, romantic glow.
Book Guest Rooms
With 193 rooms on-site, your guests can stay right where the celebration is. This makes logistics easier and extends the celebration into after-hours moments.
Use the Spa Perks
The award-winning spa offers couples massages post-wedding. Many couples include this in their experience - the bridal party often books treatments the morning-of.
All-Inclusive Simplifies Planning
In-house catering and planning means one team coordinates everything. They know the venue intimately and timing runs smoothly.
Note the Rebranding
One Ocean is becoming 'Dune House' in 2026. The venue and service remain the same - just a fresh name to know when planning.
Planning Your Timeline at One Ocean Resort & Spa
We don't publish generic sample timelines because they're useless without knowing your wedding date. Here's why:
A 5pm ceremony works beautifully in summer but means portraits in the dark in winter. Your timeline needs to be built around your actual date and what matters most to you.
Light at One Ocean Resort & Spa
Natural light varies throughout the day. We recommend discussing specific timing based on your ceremony location and time of year.
Time for Photos
We recommend 45-60 minutes for portraits at One Ocean Resort & Spa, covering the ceremony area, reception space, and grounds.
Timeline Strategies
Sunset Portraits
Want that golden hour magic? We work backwards from sunset. Ceremony ends 60-90 minutes before, giving time for family photos, couple portraits, and catching the best light.
Brunch or Daytime
Morning ceremonies and daytime receptions mean lots of beautiful natural light all day. Great for summer when afternoons can get pretty warm.
Venue Timing Notes
- Music curfew at Midnight (Fri/Sat), 11pm (Sun)
