Epping Forest is a 1920s DuPont mansion on the St. Johns River. It's on the National Register of Historic Places, and once you walk in, you understand why. Spanish Renaissance architecture, manicured English gardens, and river views that go on forever.

We've photographed weddings here ranging from 30 guests in the intimate Gate Room to 400+ in the gardens. The venue flexes to fit, but the bones are always the same: historic details, natural light, and that river.

Where We Shoot

The spots we come back to every time.

The Grand Staircase

The interior staircase is where we start almost every Epping Forest wedding. The light from the windows wraps around couples perfectly, and the Spanish Renaissance details frame the shot without us having to do much. First looks here are always emotional.

The English Gardens

Most ceremonies happen here under the old oaks. We position ourselves to get the mansion in the background during the processional—it's the shot that makes people realize this isn't just any venue. Late afternoon light filters through the trees beautifully.

The River Terrace

This is where we sneak away during cocktail hour. The St. Johns River reflects the sky, and if you time it right, you'll catch boats passing in the background. Sunset portraits here are worth rearranging the entire timeline for.

The Waterfront Dock

Most couples don't think to go down here, but we always do. Water-level portraits with the yacht club rising behind you—it's a completely different look from everything else on the property.

Planning Your Timeline at Epping Forest Yacht & Country Club

We don't publish generic sample timelines because they're useless without knowing your wedding date. Here's why:

December 5:30 PM sunset
June 8:30 PM sunset

A 5pm ceremony works beautifully in summer but means portraits in the dark in winter. Your timeline needs to be built around your actual date and what matters most to you.

Light at Epping Forest Yacht & Country Club

The river terrace faces west over the St. Johns River—perfect for sunset portraits. The grand staircase interior gets beautiful afternoon window light.

Time for Photos

We recommend 60-90 minutes for portraits at Epping Forest Yacht & Country Club, covering the grand staircase, English Gardens, river terrace, and waterfront dock.

Timeline Strategies

Sunset Portraits

Want that golden hour magic? We work backwards from sunset. Ceremony ends 60-90 minutes before, giving time for family photos, couple portraits, and catching the best light.

Brunch or Daytime

Morning ceremonies and daytime receptions mean lots of beautiful natural light all day. Great for summer when afternoons can get pretty warm.

Event Spaces

Epping Forest has options for everything from elopement-sized gatherings to 600-person celebrations. Here's what you're working with:

  • English Gardens — Up to 600 guests. Where most ceremonies happen. The oaks, the mansion backdrop, all of it.
  • River Terraces — Up to 275 guests. Waterfront ceremonies and receptions with the St. Johns as your backdrop.
  • DuPont & Mason Room — Up to 200 guests. The grand ballroom. Crystal chandeliers, the works.
  • Gate Room — Up to 70 guests. Intimate, historic, and often overlooked.
  • Forest Room — Up to 30 guests. Perfect for micro-weddings or rehearsal dinners.

Epping Forest Wedding Cost

This is a high-end venue—pricing reflects that. It's a private club with in-house catering, and costs vary based on the space, guest count, and time of year. They don't publish rates, so you'll need to contact them directly.
