Brick and Beam brings that sought-after industrial aesthetic to Jacksonville weddings—think exposed brick walls, soaring wood beams, Edison bulb chandeliers, and an urban vibe that photographs beautifully. But what really sets it apart is the combination of indoor industrial charm with outdoor spaces: a bamboo-lined courtyard for ceremonies and a rooftop balcony with jaw-dropping views of the Jacksonville skyline.

The venue's flexibility is a huge draw for couples who want to customize their day. You can bring your own caterer and vendors, which means you're not locked into packages—you can truly make the event your own. Whether you're dreaming of a food truck reception or a plated dinner from your favorite restaurant, Brick and Beam makes it happen.

Best Photo Locations

The Rooftop Balcony

My absolute favorite spot—the top floor balcony with panoramic views of the Jacksonville skyline. The city backdrop is stunning any time, but summer months add that hazy heat shimmer off the buildings that gives photos an almost cinematic quality.

The Bamboo Courtyard

The outdoor ceremony space is surrounded by lush bamboo that stays green year-round. It creates a natural, intimate feel that contrasts beautifully with the industrial interior.

The Main Hall

Exposed brick walls, wood beams, and Edison bulb lighting create that perfect industrial-meets-romantic vibe. The space is long, so we position portraits strategically throughout.

The Mural Wall

Along the side of the building there's a mural with trees nearby that show beautiful color in spring and fall—a great spot for portraits with an urban art feel.

The Bridal Suite

Bright getting-ready space with plenty of natural light for those morning-of moments.

Photographer Tips

The Rooftop is Everything

Don't skip the top floor balcony. That Jacksonville skyline view is iconic, and the summer haze adds an almost dreamy quality to the city backdrop. We'll build time into your timeline for this.

Bring Your Own Everything

One of the best things about Brick and Beam is the flexibility—you can bring your own caterer and vendors. This means you can truly customize your day. Take advantage of it!

Lighting Heads-Up

The interior lighting can be tricky, and the space is long. We come prepared with multiple lights positioned throughout so we can capture moments no matter where the action moves.

Spring and Fall for Color

The trees near the mural wall pop with color in spring and fall. The bamboo courtyard is gorgeous year-round, but those seasonal colors add something special to outdoor portraits.

Planning Your Timeline at Brick and Beam

We don't publish generic sample timelines because they're useless without knowing your wedding date. Here's why:

December 5:30 PM sunset
June 8:30 PM sunset

A 5pm ceremony works beautifully in summer but means portraits in the dark in winter. Your timeline needs to be built around your actual date and what matters most to you.

Light at Brick and Beam

Industrial venue with exposed brick and large windows. Natural light floods the space, especially in afternoon.

Time for Photos

We recommend 45-60 minutes for portraits at Brick and Beam, covering the main hall, brick walls, and surrounding urban area.

Timeline Strategies

Sunset Portraits

Want that golden hour magic? We work backwards from sunset. Ceremony ends 60-90 minutes before, giving time for family photos, couple portraits, and catching the best light.

Brunch or Daytime

Morning ceremonies and daytime receptions mean lots of beautiful natural light all day. Great for summer when afternoons can get pretty warm.

Venue Timing Notes

  • Music curfew at 11pm
  • Urban venue—industrial aesthetic
