We fell in love with Carter from his very first message — his enthusiasm for life and his love for Emily was shining through. He wanted something a little more secluded so we went with Mussallem Beachfront Park, which has a reputation for being quiet. A little Nor'easter kicked up and what is normally a lovely beach was seafoam and churning waves, but Carter rolled with it. He kneeled down in a little circle of candles and Emily was completely surprised. We did a few pictures on the beach, then moved inland a little to get away from the wind and popped a bottle of champagne — Carter went straight for the bottle, and insisted we have a little with them for luck.
