Pub & Tea Room
The Chatsworth Pub and Tea Room Wedding Photography
A downtown St. Augustine pub and tea room — a real venue for rehearsal dinners, and a familiar stop for wedding parties
About The Chatsworth Pub and Tea Room
The Chatsworth Pub and Tea Room is a British-style pub and tea room in the heart of downtown St. Augustine, just off Marine Street near the bayfront. It runs two identities under one roof: a full gastropub with more than 40 craft beer handles, lounge seating, and a bar, and a separate Tea Room built for formal afternoon tea and private events — English wallpaper, gilt mirrors, and a chandelier over an intimate dining room.
That split personality is exactly why it shows up on our radar two different ways. Book the Tea Room, or the whole pub, and it's a real reception venue — we've photographed a rehearsal dinner there ourselves. Or treat it the way plenty of wedding parties already do: a downtown stop for a celebratory drink on the way to or from a ceremony somewhere else nearby. Both are legitimate reasons to end up here with a camera.

The Tea Room, Set for a Private Event
On its own, the Tea Room comfortably seats up to 40 guests — oversized chairs, imported English wallpaper, and a chandelier overhead give it a formal, slightly old-world feel that's rare for a downtown pub. Book the entire pub instead and the numbers climb: up to 65 guests for a seated dinner, or more than 80 for a cocktail-style event with passed hors d'oeuvres, per the venue's own event details.
It's a popular choice specifically for wedding weekends — rehearsal dinners, rehearsal cocktail parties, welcome parties the night before, post-wedding brunches, plus bridal and baby showers. Booking runs through a contact form on the venue's own site, where you provide event type, date, and expected guest count; private bookings carry a food-and-beverage minimum.
What We Saw Shooting There
We photographed a rehearsal dinner in the Tea Room this summer, and the room does most of the work for you. The long tables were dressed in cream linens with black Chiavari chairs and white floral centerpieces, all lit by the chandelier overhead, with dark wood cabinetry and framed artwork giving the walls real texture instead of a blank backdrop. Guests mingled at the bar over a charcuterie spread before dinner, someone stood to give a toast between courses, and the room had an easy, unfussy energy that made candid moments easy to find.
Once dinner wrapped, we walked the couple a few blocks for portraits on the brick streets and quiet alleys of downtown St. Augustine — the kind of evening light that's free the moment you step outside a room like this one.
We've also seen the Tea Room work the other way: as a stop, not the main event. During a wedding at The White Room earlier this year, part of the wedding party ducked into the pub for a celebratory drink on the way to the ceremony. Both roles are real, and both make for good photographs — worth mentioning to us either way if it's part of your day.
