Why We Love Photographing at Hammock Dunes Club
The ceremony lawn is one of the cleanest backdrops we work with. Just the Atlantic and open sky - nothing to compete with the couple. That keeps portraits feeling timeless. And since it's a private club, no crowds walk through your ceremony.
The variety keeps your gallery fresh. We move from the beach to the grounds to the ballroom - all without driving. The covered terraces work well for candid shots and give us soft, even light.
Sunset works well here. The lawn faces east, so we get warm, indirect glow. No squinting into direct sun. The backlight gives rich sky color and soft light on faces.
Best Photo Locations
Oceanfront Ceremony Area
Oceanfront lawn with Atlantic views and open sky. Natural light works well all day, with dramatic sunset backdrops.
Main Ballroom
Indoor space with large windows and soft lighting. Chandeliers and refined decor make for elegant portraits.
Beach Access
Direct beach access for portraits. Sand and ocean waves create dynamic backgrounds, especially at golden hour.
Clubhouse Grounds
Large clubhouse grounds with mature plants, building details, and varied light across the property.
Covered Terraces
Covered outdoor spaces with ocean breezes. Mixed natural and building light creates nice portrait options.
Golf Course Backdrop
Golf course views with trimmed greens and water features. Open light and varied height for wide portraits.
Photographer Tips
Emerald Club Status
One of only 105 clubs worldwide with this title. That means top service and close attention to detail.
Oceanfront Ceremony Setting
The ceremony area faces the Atlantic with wide open views. The open layout works for many ceremony setups and guest counts.
Sunset Timing is Key
Plan your ceremony to end about an hour before sunset. That gives time for cocktail hour portraits and beach sunset photos.
Multiple Photo Spots
Beach access, grounds, ballroom, and covered outdoor areas give you many settings. Your gallery will have natural variety.
Golf Course Portraits
If time allows, the golf course offers wide portraits with trimmed greens and water features for added variety.
In-House Services
The club handles catering and coordination in-house. That keeps vendor logistics simple on your wedding day.
Planning Your Timeline
We don't publish generic timelines. They're useless without knowing your date. Here's why:
A 5pm ceremony works great in summer. In winter, it means dark portraits. Your timeline must match your actual date and what matters most to you.
Lighting & Golden Hour
Private club setting with ocean views. The beach and grounds offer varied lighting throughout the day.
Time for Photos
We recommend 60-75 minutes for portraits at Hammock Dunes Club, covering the beach, clubhouse, grounds, and golf course views.
Timeline Strategies
Sunset Portraits
Want golden hour magic? We work backwards from sunset. End the ceremony 60-90 minutes before. That gives time for family photos, couple portraits, and the best light.
Brunch or Daytime
Morning ceremonies and daytime receptions mean good natural light all day. Great for summer when afternoons get warm.
