Leña is the child company of Asado Life, run by Nick and Christie — who we met almost a decade ago on an assignment for St. Augustine Social. We needed to photograph Nick, who was known for building these amazing Brazilian grills. We asked if we could come to his workshop to photograph the grills and photograph him, and Nick said, "Why don't I bring the grill to you and give you the full experience?"

The Best Meal We've Ever Had, in Our Own Backyard
With no idea what to expect, we said yes — and Nick and Christie came to our house, set up the grill in the backyard, and cooked the most amazing meal we've ever had. Grilled pineapple, grilled peppers, seafood, meat — all of it incredible. We remember thinking, "We have to get one of these grills." Fast forward a few years and they opened Asado Life; Leña grew out of it.
