Unique & Destination Elopements

The area is just the starting point. We photograph elopements throughout Florida and beyond—wherever your love story takes you.

Castle Otttis

A hand-built castle on A1A with massive wooden doors and rooftop views. Ceremonies for 2-30 guests in a setting that feels like another time and place.

Lightner Museum Courtyard & Amore Chapel

A hidden garden with koi pond and stone bridge, plus a charming indoor chapel. Downtown's most romantic elopement setting.

Fort Mose Historic State Park

Peaceful trails, boardwalks over the marsh, and deep historical significance. A grounded setting for couples who want nature without the beach.

Washington Oaks Gardens

Coquina rock formations, tidal pools, and lush gardens. One of Florida's most unique ceremony settings.

Schooner Freedom

Say your vows aboard a tall ship sailing past the Castillo and Bridge of Lions. Sunset ceremonies with the old city skyline as your backdrop.

The Conch House

A waterfront tiki-style marina with sunset views over Salt Run. Casual Caribbean vibes, dock ceremonies, and party barge receptions.

St. Augustine Lighthouse

Maritime history meets sweeping views. Permits available for ceremonies on the grounds.

Private Estates & Rentals

Vacation homes, boats, Airbnbs—we've photographed intimate ceremonies in all of them.

Planning Your St. Augustine Elopement

Whether you're local or traveling here, we help couples navigate the logistics. Here's what you need to know:

Marriage License

Get yours at the St. Johns County Clerk's office. Cost is $93.50. Florida residents have a 3-day waiting period (waived with premarital course). Out-of-state couples have no waiting period—you can get licensed and married the same day.

Officiant

You'll need a licensed officiant. We have trusted recommendations for every style—from traditional to casual to notary-quick. Just ask.

Best Time of Year

St. Augustine is a year-round destination. Spring and fall offer the most comfortable weather. Summer brings afternoon storms (plan morning or sunset). Winter is mild with occasional cool fronts—bring a wrap.

Best Time of Day

Golden hour varies by season—we'll give you exact times. Sunrise offers empty beaches and soft light. Sunset delivers that dramatic glow. Midday works for covered/shaded locations.

Permits

Public beaches and downtown don't require permits for small ceremonies. State parks, the Lighthouse, and some venues do. We know what's needed for each location and can guide you through the process.

Vendors We Trust

Need hair, makeup, florals, or a private chef? We've worked with the best vendors in St. Augustine and can make recommendations based on your style and budget.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about eloping in St. Augustine

We recommend booking 2-3 months in advance for the best selection of dates and times. That said, we've photographed same-week elopements—it never hurts to reach out even with short notice. Peak season (October-May) books faster, so plan accordingly if you have a specific date in mind.

It depends on location. Public beaches and downtown St. Augustine don't require permits for small ceremonies. State parks (Anastasia, Washington Oaks), the St. Augustine Lighthouse, and some venues like the Lightner Museum courtyard require permits. We'll help you navigate what's needed based on your chosen location.

Yes! Florida has no waiting period for out-of-state couples. You can get your marriage license at the St. Johns County Clerk's office and get married the same day. Florida residents have a 3-day waiting period unless you complete a premarital course. We help destination couples plan this all the time.

Florida weather doesn't always cooperate—we've seen sideways rain hit moments before a ceremony. When that happens, we go into action with solutions, not questions. 'Here's option A or B: We can wait and see if this blows past, or move to this covered courtyard—it'll actually create a more intimate feel.' Downtown St. Augustine has beautiful backup spots. Afternoon storms typically pass within 30-60 minutes, and some of our best light happens right after. We use our experience to tell you what we think.

Absolutely. Modern elopements range from just the two of you to 50+ guests. It's about the vibe, not the headcount. Our coverage options work for any size—we'll help you figure out what makes sense for your plans.

We help with everything. Location scouting, timeline building, officiant recommendations, permit guidance, weather backup plans. You focus on getting married; we'll handle the logistics.
