About Us

Family Photos in Jacksonville, From a Husband-and-Wife Team

We're Rob and Jill, a husband-and-wife team with over a decade of family sessions behind us. We're parents too, so we know how a family photo day really goes. Someone can't find a shoe, someone is hiding behind your leg, and everyone has an opinion about the outfits.

We both lived in Jacksonville before we settled in St. Augustine, so the beaches, parks and brick streets on this side of the First Coast aren't unfamiliar to us. We'd like to photograph your family the way you actually are together, and help you feel at ease while we do it.

How We Work

How We Approach Family Photography

A family session shouldn't feel like a performance, and it shouldn't be a free-for-all either. We aim for the space between the two. We're intentional about where you stand, what the light is doing and what's behind you, and then we leave room for the parts nobody can plan, like the kid who decides the sand is more interesting than the camera.

We split the job. Rob photographs while Jill poses the family and keeps the kids excited and looking in the right direction. Family sessions are more intentional than a quick snapshot day, and we work together on every frame so each image looks as good as we can make it.

We'd rather give you a few really good pictures than a lot of rushed okay ones. So we slow down at the start, check outfits, hair and the small details, and make sure everyone is ready before we shoot. If one kid wants to hide or dig in the sand, we take that picture too, then we try for the more traditional one.

Where We Shoot

Where We Shoot Family Sessions Around Jacksonville

Memorial Park in Riverside is a riverfront park with room for kids to move, and downtown Jacksonville puts the river and its bridges behind you. Jacksonville Beach is a very popular spot for family photos, and so are several parks around town, including the Treaty Oak in Jessie Ball duPont Park and Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park. Some places have their own rules for professional photography, so permits may apply, and we advise at booking.

We live in St. Augustine, under an hour south, and we also photograph Ponte Vedra family photos along the beach halfway between. Planning a coast trip too? Our complete St. Augustine family photo guide covers where to go there. Tell us your kids' ages and what you're picturing, and we'll help you pick a place, or photograph you in your own backyard or anywhere you love.

The Process

How a Session With Us Works

1.Inquire

Tell us where you're picturing your session, whether that's the beach, a park, downtown or your own backyard, and who will be in the photos. We'll check availability and talk through the best options for your family.

Once you book, we settle the location, the time of day and a plan for keeping things low-stress, especially with little ones. For outfits, think coordinated tones rather than matching, and keep the kids in something they can actually run in. Our what-to-wear guide has the full palettes.

We split the work, with Rob behind the camera and Jill out front with you and the kids. We slow down at the start so everyone is ready, then mix candid moments with a few classic portraits.

Highlights within a few days. Your full edited gallery, with download and print rights, is delivered in about two weeks.

What our clients have to say
Rob and Jill are simply amazing. They did our family pictures in St. Augustine for the 2nd year in a row! They are so easy to work with, great with our children and getting the best candid shots! We will ALWAYS use them when we do family beach pictures! Their pricing package is beyond fair!

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about family sessions in Jacksonville

Ask us anything

Yes. We're based in St. Augustine, under an hour south, and we both lived in Jacksonville before settling here. We're glad to work downtown, at the beach, in a neighborhood park or in your own backyard. Tell us what you're picturing and we'll help you choose the spot.

Most kids don't, at least not for long, and that's fine. Jill works with the kids up front, keeping them excited and pointed the right way, while Rob focuses on the pictures. We take the goofy pictures along with the traditional ones, and some of our favorites come from the moments nobody planned. Relax and let them be kids.

Sessions run 30, 60 or 90 minutes, depending on the package. Most families choose 60 minutes, which leaves time for a few groupings, a change of pace for the kids and one or two spots. Larger extended families do well with the 90 minute session.

Coordinated tones usually look better than matching outfits, and comfortable clothes the kids can move in matter more than anything. Our guide on what to wear for family photos has palettes and the mistakes to skip.

Call or write whenever you are ready. Many families book 3-4 weeks ahead, and we are glad to hear from you on shorter notice too. Join our email list for early access to mini shoots and holiday dates.

Florida is beautiful all year, and family sessions in Jacksonville work whenever you choose. We plan around your date and the time of year, with comfortable timing for little kids and a spot that suits the light that day.
