The bridal party spent the morning getting ready at a charming Airbnb. Matt looked sharp in his Navy dress uniform. Nicole shared a first look with her dad, an emotional moment that set the tone for the afternoon. The ceremony took place on the rooftop of the White Room, where their close family and friends witnessed their vows against a picturesque view of the bayfront. During the reception, the couple snuck away to capture a few romantic photos amid the enchanting Nights of Lights. As the night came to a close, they enjoyed a magical sparkler exit, surrounded by their loved ones.

Meg, whom we first met while she was studying communications at Flagler College, embarked on travels through Australia and Asia after graduation. Upon returning to the U.S., she joined our team for a summer and became the best assistant we've ever had. That same year, she met Nate in Jacksonville. After the Navy relocated them to Hawaii and then New Orleans, Meg opened her own photography studio called Melleaux Photo. When she asked us to photograph her wedding, we were thrilled. The preparations took place at the stylish Virgin Hotel, and the couple exchanged vows at the picturesque Swoop Duggins house. The magical celebration included dancing, drinks with close friends, a New Orleans Second Line, and tarot card readings.

Downtown Jacksonville | Engagement session | Love | Megan + Scott

I love getting to photograph love in new locations and when Megan asked me if I had any ideas for downtown Jacksonville I did my best to contain my excitement. Before moving to St. Augustine 10 years ago I lived in Jacksonville for a short while - and I very much consider it to be our bigger and brighter sister city. 

We had to stretch our session a little bit to get in as many of the amazing locations of downtown that we possibly could - and when I saw this photograph with the Jacksonville skyline and the Main Street Bridge in the background I knew it the extra hustle was worth it. :)

St. Augustine Wedding Photographer | Julie and Andrew - Riverhouse in St. Augustine, FL

I had a lot of fun getting to know Julie and Andrew and I am sure I entertained them quite a bit during that process... On our engagement shoot one of my (ridiculously overpriced) lights fell into the St. Johns river. We stood on the dock momentarily thinking it might drift back over to us but within a second it was darting to the dark and murky bottom. Without thinking I dove in head first to save it. Andrew pulled me out of the water, gave me a towel from his truck and they finished the session being overly concerned while I shivered behind the camera. 

Julie and Andrew were married at the Riverhouse and told me early on that I was not allowed anywhere near the water. :)
