With so many weddings out of the country this year I was starting to feel bad for not bringing my little along for my adventures.

Getting to work back to back weddings in Costa Rica this week seemed like the perfect opportunity to change that. 

We started out our adventure in San Jose where our friend Roy gave us a ride into La Fortuna - at the base of the Arenal volcano.

We stayed in a lovely appartment within walking distance of the town and the kids got a chance to interact with out Costa Rican neighbors and see for themselves what a normal day in the life of La Fortunian looked like. I had a blast using the lush rainforests and that massive dormant volcano (that was still steaming!) as a backdrop for wedding photos.

We hired a driver - Mr. Minor - to take us from La Fortuna over to Jaco where we had our final session. The road was packed with pilgrims making the trip from local villages to the bigger cities to celebrate a local holiday - without a doubt my favorite part of the trip was following the truck carrying explosives down the winding mountain roads as fast as possible during the pouring rain. 

Being a lifelong East Coast kid, I am still adjusting the Pacific sunsets - which are just absolute perfection.
